What is it about an eagle?  Is it its strength, its beauty and gracefulness, its ability and agility, or its far-reaching vision?  
Is it its ability to soar the skies, going to tremendous heights, in freedom and liberty?  Is it its love, gentleness, and
attentiveness to its partner and its young?  Yes, all these things and more.  And all these characteristics are ones we
see operating in and through the prophetic.  
An eagle is a raptor, coming from the Latin word for plunderer, and stemming from the
word rapere, meaning one who seizes.  Jesus came that we might have life and have it
abundantly.  It is the prophet, with incredibly sharp, long-range vision; speed; agility;
strength; determination; and maneuverability that helps us plunder the works of
darkness in our own lives and in this world, and seize - lay hold of - that for which we
were taken hold of  by Christ Jesus.
